Help for Downloading AuditWare Program Files

Using Microsoft Internet Explorer (downloading with Netscape is similar), the download process is as follows:

1)  From TheAudit.com web site home page, click on SOFTWARE.  On the next screen click on downloads.  This will bring you to the AuditWare download page.   Click on the file you are going to download (Engine, Utilities, TSDFILES,  ALGFILES, CSDFILES, etc.). Then a screen with a box appears with the title of "File Download" will appear. Be sure the phrase "Save this program to disk" is chosen and click OK. If you have trouble with that process, try right-clicking on the file and select "Save target as" or "Save link as."

2)  The next box is titled "Save As".  Click on the arrow beside the "Save In" box and choose C:\. A screen will appear with numerous file folders on it.  Click on AW. On the next screen click on DOWNLOAD.  On the following screen be sure the file you are downloading (i.e., TSDFILES if you are downloading the Audit ISD product) is shown at the bottom of the box where it says File Name. Click on SAVE. The c:\aw\download folder is a part of the AuditWare folder structure  If you are downloading on a computer which does not have AuditWare installed, download each file to a disketteor other storage device; then copy the file(s) to the c:\aw\download folder of the other computer.

3)  A new screen will appear showing the file being downloaded.  If you are on a dial-up connection, the process may take as long as 7 or 8 minutes. Afterward, a message will appear, "Download complete."  Click OK, repeat the process for downloading any additional files, and exit from the web site.

4) If you are a network administrator, you can download the files to any folder, then copy them to the C:\AW\DOWNLOAD folder of each computer you want to update. The next time those users load AuditWare those updates will be installed automatically when the AuditWare Access menu is loaded.
